Silver Shines Like Gold
Michelle "Silver" Mentor
Michelle is a rising star out of San Fernando Trinidad and Tobago WI.  This stunning vocalist was dubbed the "Queen Replier" of  Soca for her replies to other Soca tunes.  Her latest is a reply to a song call "Pipe" by Patch entitled "Pipeless Man".  The title speaks for its self as Silver is fast becoming a household name in Soca.  She also composes some of her material and soon she will be showing her musical diversity singing other genres.   For more details check out her BIO.

Michelle Mentor aka Silver hails from San Fernando South Trinidad. Silver was always involved in cultural activities in school. She started at the age of 9 entering calypso competitions. Upon leaving school she was very active in sport and started composing her own compositions; Silver joined the Calypso Revue in (1996-2000) as a background vocalist; she then joined the House of Stars and in 2003.   Silver did her first professional recording with  a song entitled “Mookie”  the reply to Jamesy P’s hit “Nookie”.  Silver got her first international show in the Reflections Club, Brooklyn New York.

Silver was approached by several other artiste to reply to there compositions because of her hard lyrics and commanding renditions.

Silver then went on to record her own songs most of which were written by prolific lyricist, Wayne Modeste  aka Impulse.   Silver replied to Impulse’s composition “Talking Dog” in 2007.  In 2008,  Silver was challenged to answer another selection sang by one of her favorite artiste Edwin Ayoung “Crazy” who sang ‘Phone Card’.

By this time, the public branded her “The Queen Replier”. In 2009, Silver sang her own composition, “Chit Chat” which was an astounding success.  The song describes talkative men…….. ‘deh talkin bout bang when deh get bang bang dey can’t handle it, chit chat!’.  Silver also replied to Barbadian Soca Artiste Red Plastic Bag’s song entitled “Wrong Gyal” with her own composition ‘Right Gyal’.

In 2010, Silver decided to focus on her newly formed catering company but could not resist replying  to Patch’s hit song ‘Pipe’.  Silver’s reply venomous and hard hitting. The reply entitled ‘Pipeless Man’ says it all.

Silver is a versatile artiste and will be recording other genres of music during 2010.

Under the management of Wendy Lewis, CEO of Khalabash Entertainment & Promotions, Silver is now aligned with fellow international artistes, Curtis “General “ Grant and Wayne “Impulse” Modeste.
