The Soca Monarch Competition was a historic one as Fayann Lyons took the title from her husband and won the Groovy Soca Title as well. Fayann is the daughter of Soca legend Super Blue and wife of the defending Soca monarch Bunji Garlin. Fayann was the Road March winner for 2008 carnival. In two days she maybe the first person to win the Soca Monarch titles and road march. It is also possible that she could take the first and second place for the road march with her songs “Meet Superblue” and “Heavy T” the winning songs for the Monarch Competition.She would also be the first known pregnant competitor to win any title during Trinidad's Carnival competitions.The Calypso Monarch Completion will be determined later today.
